Phillies- A great time in Citizens Bank Park

Good afternoon my fellow explorers! Thank you for taking the time to stop and read this post. Last week I had the chance to go to my 3rd Phillies game since I have been here at Temple. My roommate told me that they were selling tickets at Temple for only $15 dollars. A couple of my friends and I decided that we wanted to go to the game last Friday. We decided to buy the tickets, however when we went to the Student Center to buy them, they had already sold out. My roommate who goes to the Health and Science campus told me that they were still selling them there too. We took the shuttle up Broad street to the other campus and bought out tickets for only $15.

The Phillies played the St. Louis Cardinals that night. We got seats really high up (the 400 section) but we did not really care since we only paid $15. From where we were seated we had a perfect view, and there were many empty seats so we moved around. During the 7th innning it began to rain and the game stopped. Luckily the Phillies were winning and ended the game with a score of 8-2.

Since the game ended early we decided to go to the XFINITY Center across the ball park. Stay posted for the post!

You guys should definitely take advantage of the cheap tickets! Its definitely a great experience!.

Japanese Tea House – Fairmount Park

Good afternoon explorers. Thank you for stopping by. This weekend the weather was beautiful and I decided that I wanted to go out and do something outdoors. I decided that the closest park to my apartment was Fairmount park.

Last year my roommate and I decided to volunteer at a 5k held at the park and as we were volunteering we ran into a Japanese looking house. We saw that it was a Japanese Tea House. Unfortunately it was not close because it was so cold so we were not able to go in.

This time around since the weather was so nice I was able to go in an see the house and the garden outside. The price to go in is $6 but with a student ID you can get in for $4. The house was really interesting. It seemed like it had a lot of smaller rooms, however from what I could see, if they opened all the doors up it would be a large room.

The garden outside the house was really spectacular. I have never been to Japan but it almost felt like I was there. There was a pond outside and there were all sorts of plants and trees.

This is a perfect place to visit. When I was there I felt very relaxed and I almost forgot about time.

Fette Sau- Amazing smoked meat

Hey guys thanks for stopping in. As you guys know I recently discovered Frankford Hall. I really liked this area and decided to look at other places near it. To my surprise I found Fette Sau, a delicious barbecue restaurant. They offer different types of smoke meat; pulled pork, ribs, brisket and much more. Aside from their delicious smoke meats, they also have really delicious craft beer.

This is a different type of restaurant. When you first go in you can see all the different meats that they have. They ask you how much of it you want and then they cut it and put it on a metal tray. After that you can decide what types of sides you want. Some of the different sides that they have are roasted mushrooms, potato salad, baked beans, sauerkraut, and what I decided to get coleslaw.

I decided that I wanted to get some Black Angus Brisket. When I got to the table they had different types of sauces, sweet and spicy. You can add this to your meat to add some extra flavor. The meat was tender and juicy, the coleslaw was also very good. Although the food is delicious, it is a little expensive, but hey its totally worth it.

The restaurant is located in 1208 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19125. If you like barbecue and want to empress a date, definitely take them here. It is a great place and it is a great experience.

The Cave of Kelpius- Wissahickon Valley Park

Photos taken by: Camilo A. Lopez

Hey guys, hope all of you had a great Easter. Thank you for stopping by to read this weeks post. This week it is going to be a little bit weirder than normal. but hey weird is fun! As you guys know this week the weather was crazy, being in the 50′s on Wednesday. I decided to do some exploring out in the wilderness. I had heard from a couple of friends about a cave  that was really interesting in the Wissahickon Valley Park.

I did not really know much about the story behind the cave, so I decided to go out and see what I would find. When I got to the trail, there was a map that showed where that cave was located. I took a picture of the map with my phone just in case I would get lost. I started exploring and it was really quiet and peaceful, its crazy to believe how close this place is to the city.

I kept going down the trail, got lost a few times but with my map I was able to find my way. When I got to where the map said that the cave was, it was really creepy because it was so quiet. Out of nowhere a little dog came running towards me. This scared me because I wasn’t expecting to run into anyone or anything. I was wondering where he came from but then his owner came running behind him.

When I got to the cave, there was a legend written on a block outside. I read it and it was really cool, it talked about Kelpius and the history of the cave. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go in the cave since it was creepy, but I decided that it would be interesting to actually go in and see what it looked like. The cave was very small and very interesting. There was some graffiti on the wall and there was even an upside down cross on the wall.

Overall, if you want to go hiking and exploring, I think that you should definitely go and try to find the Cave of Kelpius. CLICK HERE FOR FURTHER READING
