The Hobbit Review

The Hobbit

Hey Everyone! Today’s review is going to be the epic adventure movie “The Hobbit” starring Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage, and Ian Mckellen.

This movie is about Bilbo Baggins and his adventure with a clan of Dwarves. During this adventure they come across some GIANT enemies and must fight their way to Lonely Mountain to reclaim the home of the Dwarves.

One thing I can say is that if you liked the original Lord of the Rings movies you will enjoy this. The acting in this movie was good and the character development was about average but the action in this movie was great! This movie had some intense action scenes and some thrilling chases that will keep you glued to the screen.

Overall, The Hobbit was a very fun and entertaining movie that I would definitely recommend seeing. I am looking forward to the next one that will be released in late 2013.

I give The Hobbit a 4/5.

Happy Movie Going!

42: The True Story of an American Legend Review

42: The True Story of an American Legend

Hey Movie Goers,

Today’s review is going to on the Jackie Robinson movie, 42: The True Story of an American Legend.

This movie is about Jackie Robinson and his career as a baseball player. This movie starts you at the early years of his baseball career where he is playing for a African American baseball team to his professional years where he is playing for the Dodgers.

One thing I must say about this movie is that the acting was perfect. Chadwick Boseman had a terrific performance playing the role of Jackie Robinson. There is not much I can say negatively about this movie.

This movie will pull on your heart strings and make you appreciate everything you have. At times I found myself getting angry at what Jackie had to go through just to play the game he loved.

I highly recommend seeing this movie while it is in theaters.

I give 42: The True Story of an American Legend a 5/5.

Happy Movie Going!

Evil Dead Review

Evil Dead

Hello Movie Goers,

This review is going to be on the movie Evil Dead. This movie is a remake of the original Evil Dead that was released in 1981 starring Bruce Campbell which is one of my favorite classic horror movies.

Before I get into my review I just want to give a fair warning that if anyone does not like blood and gore do not see this movie!

Evil Dead is about a group of friends who go to a cabin in the woods to help one of members in the group overcome substance abuse but they do not know of the evil that lives in the Forrest surrounding the cabin. Yes, this movie is another creepy cabin in the woods horror movie but it makes this concept fresh and new again.

Evil Dead is gruesome and brutal just like it is supposed to be. The only negative I can say about it is that the story is rather shallow but this movie and the original did not put its focus on creating a deep story it focused on how to eliminate its characters in the most creative ways.

If you are looking for a movie to see I highly recommend Evil Dead.

I give Evil Dead a gorey and gruesome 5/5

Happy Movie Going!

G.I. Joe: Retaliation Review

G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Good Morning Movie Goers,

Today’s review is going to be on the movie G.I. Joe: Retaliation starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis, and Channing Tatum.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is the sequel to G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and delivers a very similar experience. This movie focuses on RoadBlock (Dwayne Johnson) and how his team was betrayed and left for dead. Throughout the movie RoadBlock searches for who betrayed him and how he can redeem the G.I. Joe organization.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation is your typical shoot em up film. It has some nice fight scenes and impressive explosions but the underlying issue is that the story is extremely shallow. I understand that the G.I. Joe movies are not known for their stories but this movie had such potential to be better than it was.

I sadly have to say that this movie has its moments but overall is not a must see.

I give G.I. Joe: Retaliation a sympathetic 2.5/5.

Happy Movie Going!

Argo Review

Argo

Hi Everyone,

Today I am going to review the movie Argo which starred Ben Affleck.

This movie is based on a true story and is about the 1980 joint CIA-Canadian secret operation. In this operation Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck), a CIA agent, is sent in to Iran to extract six fugitive American diplomatic personnel before they are caught and executed.

I must say that this movie was great. It left me hanging on the edge of my seat for a large part of the movie. Even the scenes that did not involve high suspense still had great acting and kept you hoping that the mission would be a success.

One thing that I was worried about before watching this movie was if Ben Affleck’s acting would hold up and I am happy to say it did. Ben Affleck played the part very well and left me pleasantly surprised.

If you like suspenseful dramas with solid acting and a good story, Argo is a must. I would recommend swinging by a local Redbox to pick this movie up.

I give Argo a nail biting 4/5.

Life of Pi Review

Life of Pie

Hi Everybody!

Today’s review is going to be on the Oscar nominated movie called Life of Pi. This movie stars Suraj Sharma as teenage Pi and Irrfan Khan as adult Pi.

Life of Pi is literally about the life of a Indian man named Pi Patel and the adventures he faced while being lost at sea with a Bengali Tiger. Yes, Pi must try to survive on a little lifeboat with a tiger!

Life of Pi was a good movie and really makes you feel inspired to be a better person. It is the type of movie where you feel uplifted after watching it. Life of Pi was deep, emotional, nerve racking, magical. The list goes on and on.

I must give warning that this movie is not for everyone since it does touch heavily on religion which may push people away.

Overall, Life a Pi is a a rent and not a buy because it is good to watch one time but not over and over again. I give Life of Pie a 4/5.

Happy Movie Going!
